Breaking: Court Dismisses Suit Challenging Buhari’s Appointment Of Hameed Ali As Customs Boss

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos today, Friday, September 16, 2016, quashed a suit challenging President Muhammadu Buhari’s appointment of Hameed Ali as the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service.

Recall a human rights lawyer, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa had in November 2015, challenged the appointment of Mr. Ali, a retired Colonel, as Customs chief citing the violation of the  Nigerian laws in the process of the appointment.

However, Justice Sale Hassan of the Federal High Court in his ruling today, held that the court lacked jurisdiction on the matter, thereby dismissing the suit which was brought before the court by Barrister Adegboruwa.
